Margot Robbie’s Golden Globes Dress Looked as Comfortable as It Was Glamorous

Robbie’s last appearance at the Globes was back in 2018, when she was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy with her role as Olympic figure skating legend Tonya Harding in I, Tonya. That year, she wore a sleek, witchy dress from Gucci that featured intricate metallic embroidery and long sleeves.

Though it featured princess-y puffed shoulders, Robbie tempered all that sweetness with her signature Old Hollywood combination of relaxed Veronica Lake waves and red lipstick.

The Golden Globes red carpet hosted some glamorous hits and a few awful misses, but none more so than Gwyneth Paltrow’s “hideous” gown.

It’s the New Year and in tinseltown that means one thing: Awards season.

The first in a long line-up of ceremonies is the Golden Globes, which was held today.

Considered a precursor for the Oscars, Renee Zellweger and Joaquin Phoenix won the top honours at the ceremony, which you can read a recap of here.

But before winners were announced we hit the red carpet.

After airing on Foxtel earlier, here are some of the best and worst looks at this year’s event in Beverly Hills.

Normally a fashion muse, Gwyneth Paltrow scared everyone in a brown frilly see-through cheese cloth which Twitter users were having a field day with. Some used the word “tragic”, others “hideous”.

We’re currently trying to page her stylist to abuse her.

Hustlers nominee Jennifer Lopez refused to believe Christmas was over, dressing up as a human present fit with giant golden bow.

How can we put this nicely… We hate it.

Given the 50-year-old has garnered significant Oscars buzz for her role as Ramona in the hyped movie, we thought she’d bring us an iconic moment on the red carpet at the Globes this year.

The 29-year-old sported blonder hair and natural makeup, teamed with a multi-coloured strapless sequined top with fresh white skirt from her go-to designer.
